3. S afety 3 . EMERGENCY EVACUATION : Explain how to find the emergency stairwells. Reminders: hold the handrails, do not push. The elevators will stop for those requiring assistance to the ground floor. ASSEMBLY POINTS : Explain the assembly point location. HEADCOUNT: Assign someone to take a headcount—(not for large groups) SAFETY BUDDY: The person to your right is your safety buddy and is responsible for making sure you get out of the building. MEDICAL CONDITIONS: Let your safety buddy know of any medical conditions an emergency responder would need to know about. CALL SECURITY: (downtown only) Assign someone to call 6200 and report the emergency. CPR: Identify those certified in CPR. FIRE EXTINGUISHER: Identify the location of the closest fire extinguisher. HAZARDS: Identify any hazards in the room. (chairs, cords, restricted exit paths) CELL PHONES: Place cell phones on silent as a courtesy. RESTROOMS: Identify the locations of restrooms (for visitors)
